The Autistic Me
BBC3 Aug 09

A lovely programme that gave us a brief glimpse into the lives of three boys/young men with Asperger's Syndrome and their families. The programme did not romanticise their lives in any way, and neither had these three chaps been chosen because of any singular talent they possessed: they were just three ordinary boys with AS.

The tension in the household of the youngest boy was palpable and something I could immediately empathise with. Their decision to send him away to school, to stay as a weekly boarder in a residential unit, was probably the only choice they had, for his and the rest of the family's sanity.

It was also a very moving moment when Alex "if I was any cooler I'd be an ice cube" had a date.

And you can see a clip here...
